I left off the last article stating,…Part 2 Identify Shift Why They Are Important.

Part 1 - Being at odds with your identity (self): read later if you want

In my last article, I said, “CHANGE IS WONDERFUL!!! Creating something new is so exciting.”

Most of us shift our identity (self) as a natural progression without awareness.

This happens naturally with the changes in age but also with living circumstances (where we live), our environment/culture (where we travel), and the people we associate with our friends or network (schools/university, groups and workplace)

I want to share my reflection process and give you an insight into my history of understanding all the major shifts in self that were significant to me. There are many more shifts that I do not discuss, but these helped me understand myself and the challenges I overcame during my growth.

The History of My Identity

I thought I’d start from my life now and return in time. If you've been following me for a while, you're likely familiar with my recent history; however, I wanted to share some details you may know or not know about me.

Mama Kim

Why we settle for being known only as our profession is beyond me. Why we only VALUE our profession as a STATUS of importance… is unreal. It wasn’t until I let go of my title of being known as “doing something” for a living and just being known as being a MOM I became humbled by this role that pays me NOTHING but is ultimately the most important job I will ever have in my life and NOBODY interviewed me to see if I was qualified to do the job right or if I had the education to back my abilities to achieve all the requirements that it takes to be a “good mother.”

This role came down to me, and whether or not I wanted to be a mother is a story I will share with you in more detail. I DID NOT want to be a mother when I first met Tony, and it took me 5 years to become one. Shifting my views of becoming a mother took deep reflection, and I always knew deep down that it would ultimately change my life forever.

I wanted to live my life to the fullest before becoming a mother, and I felt like I had after all the travels, immigrating to Australia, teaching yoga and creating a small business. Motherhood pulled me into alignment with the values stored deep down within my spirit that I never knew existed but make so much sense as to why I am the way I am and have pushed me ever closer to my purpose in life even more so.

Yogi Kim

Most of you already know about my Yogi Kim journey …

EA Kim

Like most young adults, I got a job after College to “get my foot in the door.” I finished my Fashion Arts Degree and landed a job at a Fashion Company. I went through the entire interview process and was offered the job, but at the last minute, the position was relocated to another city. My job agent at the time said she would get me something temporary until another Fashion role opened up, but that never happened.
