Hey Yogi Community,
If you read my first article STOP SCROLLING and Connect MORE, this post is the opposite.
It’s funny how, as soon as you share your thoughts on being content and happy in one mode, how you amazingly shift back. Or is that just me?
Or maybe it’s the delayed 2nd-trimester burst of energy where I think I can DO EVERYTHING!!! It’s an actual thing for this 2nd-trimester energy boost. Probably to help you get shit done before the 3rd-trimester kicks your ass back into slow mode.
I hosted a small gathering of mamas in the Yoga Tent the other night. It felt so natural and amazing to be back in the space again, sharing what I love through yoga, journaling, shared circle connecting and even mindful colouring with my FREE PDF drawings. It felt so wonderful to share this space again with new people, and it reminded me of all the community yogis who haven’t been able to come due to motherhood.
So I sat down to work out for at least two nights where I could host a 3-hour Winter Yoga Nourishment for the community.
I said that my subscribers would be the first to know about events, so if you don’t want to miss out on your spot in the Yoga Tent make your booking now.
Limited space to keep it intimate and allows everyone to feel nourished and heard in these classes.
If you are reading this and cannot attend the Yoga Tent Studio in Perth, DO NOT WORRY. You can still participate in your HOME WINTER YOGA NOURISHMENT practice. The best part about yoga and self-care is that it can be done ANYTHING.
One of the primary purposes of writing these weekly articles is to get you to CARE MORE about yourself. Yoga is just one of my favourite ways to teach a self-care practice because it slows down the MIND, which mine is always very busy, and when my mind slows, I can feel my body. I realise I have been ignoring specific muscular aches and pains or that I feel really loose and relaxed.
Every day the body feels different, but we expect it to feel the same as it did yesterday. But we do so many things in a given day with our bodies to alter their being which is why it’s so important to have a practice that allows you to stop and connect to the body’s energy and feelings.
STOP right now and just take 3 DEEP BREATHS before continuing to read.
Inhale through the nose
Exhale through the mouth (make a sound as it feels better)
Inhale through the nose (deeper this time)
Exhale through the mouth (longer exhale)
Last one
Inhale through the nose (expand your chest)
Exhale through the mouth (breath it all out)
Ask yourself now… How do you feel (physically) in the body? If not relaxed and still tense do it again until you feel more calm physically in your body.
The soul or spirit connection is my favourite part, as it is when I connect with my heart. The deepest version of myself that only I will ever know as accurate. Connecting with my spirit is an AMAZING feeling, as I cannot hide from her true feelings. She makes me want to cry right now, thinking about how I miss doing my yoga asana (physical) practice daily since becoming a mama and being pregnant for the second time. She misses me, and I miss spending quality time with her. But I know this will change when I prioritize time for my asana practice specifically as WINTER just doesn’t make you want to roll out your mat. I know I’m guilty of skipping my practice.
SO HELP ME OUT…
This idea popped into my head and I want to know if you are interested in an online version of a Winter Yoga Nourishment at HOME practice?
I don’t have the time to do it today but I have started drafting it up so that you can create this practice for yourself and I’ll even do a video lesson of the yoga postures and a playlist to play. This will be a part of my paid subscription which would still be cheaper than coming to a class as you have it forever.
Otherwise you can always get a 7 day free trial as well to see if you vibe with my yoga lessons online. This space was not going to be for online yoga lessons but if it something you are wanting me to do, you have to let me know in the comments below. It always help me understand what you want as a community and as part of my Inner Circle (paid subscribers)
Finally,
Remember you can download my FREE PDF Colouring Mandalas which is a great start to do something for yourself this weekend. Dig out your markers or pencil crayons and print off all of them and make yourself a hot chocolate and just colour. I handdraw all of the mandalas as part of my creative art portfolio. I love sharing my different forms of artwork with my community so PLEASE download and use them. Share this post with a friend who likes to do mindful colouring, I’d really appreciate it always.
Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget to book your spot in the Yoga Tent!
Always with gratitude,
