New Video on Eco-Friendly Lifestyle & Filming and Editing YouTube Videos

This video is part 1 as I had more to include in this video but felt that this was enough information in one video so thought I'd save the rest for part 2

New Video on Eco-Friendly Lifestyle & Filming and Editing YouTube Videos
Share

Not everyone can watch YouTube videos, as they are time-consuming… Some of you like to read my content, so I thought I’d share my words here if you don’t feel like watching my videos. The video link is here if you also want to watch it. I have also shared more about my process of filming and editing my videos in more detail as well.

Living in alignment with your values is NOT easy

Especially when you value living an eco-friendly lifestyle. I have woven living an eco-life into my work for years now, as it is a deep passion of mine.

I want to showcase how it can be done in the most beautiful way and how we can all participate and make it part of our own lifestyle.

Sustainability and Eco living can be either overwhelming, boring and frankly annoying to hear about all the time.

We all know that climate change is a problem, but it is such a massive problem that the everyday person has NO clue how to make a real impact in their day-to-day life until they are forced to adjust, for example, taking their own shopping bags to the stores now or using reusable mugs or water bottles.

But that isn’t enough anymore....

so how do I TRY to live as eco-friendly as possible but  IMPERFECTLY?

And by imperfectly, I mean... There are still plastic products in my home, from toys to my fridge and more.

Caring about the Environment is a value that I try to live  by the majority of the time.

I am NO expert, nor do I want to be, but what I do know is this...
I LOVE THIS PLANET as it is not just my home; it is the home for my kids to grow up in, as well as your home and everyone else's in this world.

I don’t need to be an environmentalist or activist to understand that I can do my part to CARE MORE about this planet as best as possible.

The creative soul within me wants to showcase how I CARE MORE about the planet and how you can, too.

If EVERYONE becomes more imperfect with being eco-friendly,  just by tweeting these small changes will make a significant impact on the planet.

We all want to help make a difference it’s just REALLY HARD and I want to shine a light on how hard it is but at the exact same time I want to share how it is NOT!

Garden

Ways gardening makes a better impact on the planet and your lifestyle

1. You learn something new and useful.

2. You are teaching yourself and your children how plants grow

3. You learn how long the process takes from starting planting a seed to finishing cooking and eating your harvest

4. You understand it takes work to water, weed, and prune your garden

5. It gives you purpose and an activity to do during the week

6. You have to monitor and take care of them regularly so no bugs attack your garden

7. It is fun to be outside in nature and is very meditative when you are just single-tasking

8. When you learn how to grow your food, you no longer have to rely on grocery stores to provide you meals as you can now do it yourself

UPCYCLING (secondhand toys)

• I love upcycling toys  (like this wooden walker) as it is giving new life to something that would have been tossed away.  You can do this with anything for that matter and have loved DIY / upcycling for years versus just tossing it away.

Ways upcycling makes a better impact on the planet and your lifestyle

• well when you Get comfortable asking before buying toys you will be pleasantly surprised -  there are plenty of friends, family, and community groups that are willing to pass on unused toys.

• You learn how to shop with intention and purpose when looking for specific items.

• YOu learn the best places to shop are on Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, eBay, and Op Shops for secondhand toys. - You can get great deals on wooden toys or children’s equipment (strollers, baby carriers, clothes, shoes, etc.)

• You take pride in turning what would be trash into something useful again.

• You are happy to keep any item from the landfill as long as possible because you know It is helping the planet.

BULK FOOD

Ways Bulk buying makes a better impact on the planet and your lifestyle

Once you learn to start buying in bulk, it is hard to shop any other way.

you know the value in buying in bulk doesn’t just save you money, but you begin to notice the quality of ingredients.

You learn to shop for the best ingredients for your food and home, as you need them to last.

If you are like me, you find it more enjoyable to shop at bulk food stores

You start to notice how much more affordable buying in bulk is versus buying products off the shelf in the grocery store.

You can avoid buying ingredients in packaging and not creating waste!!!

You realise how people like your grandmother have been shopping for years before plastic and single-use packaging was introduced into our culture.

As a family we enjoy our monthly trip to the bulk food shop to stock up on all our favourite ingredients, but especially our snacks.

How I Start Filming & Editing My Videos

I have a list of ideas and stories I want to film, so I usually look at that first to get a sense of what type of footage I will need for the story…from their it grows
