Do I miss teaching yoga?

One of my dear friends asked me this question a few months ago. I told him it was a tricky question to answer as there are many aspects of it...

Teaching and sharing yoga with my community was a beautiful blessing and honour. I felt privileged to do “work” as it never felt like work.

Witness students waking up from Savasana with a relaxing smile on my face, yes!!!

With that said, I am enjoying being a student again.... and humbled by just focusing on my health, mentally and physically, as my body aches from not practising daily.

But it also remembers so much! It feels friggin amazing! I love the buzz you get off yoga class. There isn’t anything like it ... that natural high on life!!! It’s so fucking beautiful!!!

I miss making essential oil roller blends…

I miss having the Yoga Tent to go into so I can instantly feel relaxed in my body as it was my happy place.

I miss making cool playlists to move my body.

But most of all… I miss the people coming to the house every day, week or month! It was so cool having people come to hang out with me to do yoga in the evenings.

Just thinking about it now, I appreciate what we all created as a community because we did become a community of friends. Because it was such a small space, we all knew each other.

We would hang out after class drinking tea for 10 minutes sometimes an hour and I have never been to any yoga studio that does it like how we did it.

Now as a student myself, I am craving to have a space where I can connect to my practice like the Yoga Tent Studio did for the community.

I do have a small Bell Tent that I think about popping up at places to teach…

But it is the winter now and canvas tents really hate wet weather and that is one of the main reasons I decided to let our last tent go because of all the maintain of mould I had to do. It wasn’t worth it in the end.

Plus other factors came into the equation like children and family took priority in my life.

Come summer though… I will be wanting to possible host a yoga event with the Bell Tent so make sure you are subscribed to get to know in advance before others as it will be limited space only and it is one of the perks of paid subscribers.
